“I usuall go with grade B, grade C if I can get it, but you have to know somebody,” Deputy Senate Secretary Steve Marshall said. “Grade C isn’t sold as syrup at retail; it’s usually used in baked goods or maple candy. I’d take double D if you gave me some.”
These folks are not messing around. I think I’m going to like it in Vermont.

Happy Valley Orchard is in your new town. It’s a super fun place to visit, where they make the best homemade apple cider donuts on EARTH – served hot! with fresh pressed cider! – for a couple months a year. They also have a big gift shop where they sell tins of maple syrup of the highest grades although I don’t recall seeing any ‘D’ grade. But still. Just FYI!
